The important thing to remember is that no matter how much time they have, it will be better because they are with you in a loving home. FeLV is a virus that affects a cat’s immune system. It is not cancer, but it weakens the cat’s immune system, making opportunistic infections and some forms of cancer more likely. FeLV is only contagious to other cats.
