Adopt King a Domestic Shorthair / Mixed (short coat) cat in Providence

Location:
Providence, RI
Description:

King here, pleased to meet you! I am a happy 10 year old ball of handsomeness who enjoys a slow paced environment. But don't get me wrong, I'm not ready to hang up my wand just yet! I still have some kitten in me and enjoy playing with my wand toys. I also enjoy napping, cozy beds and cheek scratches. I don't mind the company of other cats, but most of all I love the company of people! I lived a tough life on the streets before arriving at Ten Lives, but I am loving every second of this indoor life! I have some perfect imperfections, but nothing is holding me back from living my best life. The vet thinks I may have been hit by a car at some point before finding my friends here, but my missing fur patches and healed boo boos have made me grateful for all that I have today. I am FIV+, but I'm also positively serious that I am the bestest kitty you could ever ask for! I hope I find my forever person soon, I can't wait to spend all Ten Lives with them! A forgotten feline no more, adoption applications are available below, just ask for me, King!Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is a cat-specific virus that cannot be passed onto dogs or humans. FIV is spread through deep bite wounds, typically seen on outdoor male cats who have not been neutered. It's rarely spread through grooming, sharing bowls, or litter boxes. FIV affects a cat's immune system, but most cats live long lives when they live indoors, receive routine veterinary care, have a stress-free home, and a good diet. Apply here: https://tenlivescatrescue.org/adoptionapp/Please Note:If the cat or kitten is no longer listed in the drop-down menu of the application then they are no longer available for adoption and we are not accepting applications. Due to limited volunteer power, applications submitted for cats or kittens no longer available will not be reviewed. About Ten Lives:Ten Lives Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization located in Rhode Island. Our foster-based program is 100% volunteer-powered. We do not have a facility or shelter with regular visiting hours. Out of respect for the time, privacy, and safety of our foster families, we require an approved adoption application before scheduling a meet and greet with a foster cat. Our goal is to place cats in their best-matched homes and facilitate lifelong adoptions. We do not review applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. We believe that veterinary care is an important part of cat guardianship. As such, a veterinary check is part of our adoption process. Our goal is to contact applicants within 96 business hours of receiving their application. During kitten season, wait times may be longer due to the influx of applications. We are all volunteers and kindly ask for your patience! All Ten Lives cats are spayed or neutered, receive age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLv and parasites, dewormed, treated for fleas, and microchipped. These services are inclusive of the adoption fee.
