Star is ready to join your home and brighten up your day to day! This sweet adolescent came to the Shelter with an injury to his leg that was beyond his previous guardian’s resources. Wanting the best for him, the guardian brought him to the Shelter so veterinary staff could take a look at the injury and identify appropriate next steps. A non-healing fracture was identified in his right front leg so the best course of action was to amputate his leg. He is already recovering beautifully from his surgery and is almost ready to get back to living a normal housecat life now. While he can play, cuddle and use his litterbox like any other cat, it is essential that he is housed indoors only for the rest of his life as he is not able to escape dangers such as cars, dogs, and coyotes, as well as cats with all 4 legs. Star’s favorite activities are lounging in sun beams and cuddling up with his favorite people. Star has lived with dogs but prefers a mellow, cat-savvy dog as more boisterous ones can be overwhelming. Star has also lived around cats in his previous home and attempted to befriend them. A home with a cat-savvy cat and a slow, thoughtful introduction may be a fit for Star. Although Star only has three legs, he has just as much (if not more) love to give as the average kitty!
