The Sonoma Humane Society prides itself on successful adoption rates because of the time we spend with you and your prospective pet upfront. First you must decide what type of animal is "right" for you. Are you more of a dog or a cat person or are you interested in a smaller animal like a rabbit, guinea pig or pocket pet? You must have a clear understanding of yourself, your family and your lifestyle to answer this question correctly. Many people need several visits before they can make the decision to adopt and we encourage you to take all the time you need to make your new relationship permanent. Adoption Fees Our animals receive the highest quality of medical care, diets, training and socialization to become a permanent part of your home. Our adoption fees do not cover the expenses for each animal that enters our facility. Thanks to donations from the community, we are able to offer more than any other shelter in the County. Just look at all of the quality care that each and every animal receives here in order to prepare them for a lifelong home with you.
