Carrot Cake is a delectable female orange tabby pulled from the Manhattan Animal Care Center in April. Carrot Cake was rescued in the Bronx by an urban park ranger found this poor girl shivering, curled up under a car to escape the rain. Carrot Cake was brought to the ACC, but she was not doing well in the shelter. She had lost weight and she's not a large kitty to begin with. Her rescuer was able to get her to eat and gain a few pounds. The ACC could not tell if she had been spayed and did not attempt it given her condition. Once she was strong enough, she was spayed and her teeth polished.Now Carrot Cake doing great! She's as sweet as a treat. She's social and affectionate, and likes to reach her paw out to people to invite them to pet her. She is friendly with other cats, but does not like dogs. The ACC estimated age is 5 years old but she may be younger based on the condition of her teeth. As you know, only 1 in 5 orange cats are female, so Carrot Cake is quite special! Email XXXX@catsunderthestars.org to apply!Adoption processAll cats and kittens are vaccinated and tested for FELV (feline leukemia) and FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus), and if old enough, are neutered or spayed.We will ask you some questions about your home and we will be glad to answer any questions you may have. Adopting a pet is a long-term commitment. We ask you to sign the KittyKind Adoption Agreement.We will always take a cat back FOR ANY REASON. We will also work with you to place her in another good home if (after a period of adjustment) the adoption doesn't work out. We do ask for a $125 adoption fee to help cover some of our food and veterinary expenses.
